Hi all, I came across this Rs 100 bank note signed by B Rama rau, with 2 elephants on the rear of the note. The serial numbers are black. I have never seen this design of note before, nor has this been listed on numista.
Is there anyone who has come across this style of note and if so, could you kindly shed more light on this?
Thanks
If I keep quiet & walk away, it simply means..your stupidity isn't worth any more of my time.
Holy mackerel! - thank you so much. So this note is actually legit.
Okay, so next question - is this a very rare note? The reason I ask is that the person who wants to sell it to me is quoting a price of around INR 58,000 (about USD 710). Is this expected or overpriced?
Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, based on pricing alone (PMG and eBay) it would appear that the English only version is scarcer and therefore costlier.
Nice, I'll try and acquire one around the $300-400 range.
Thank you everyone for your valuable input.
I’ve looked over a few examples after your initial post & was struck by the number of 100 Rupees notes from this era incorrectly labeled (or miss-identified). I suggest you carefully bone up the varieties and be certain of the serial number placement, colour, etc, before you “pull the trigger.”
