I was browsing the catalogue to complete the list of Exonumia mintmark.
I end up on this token, I was surprising to identify the mint thanks to the very identifiable CC mintmark, not New Queensland Mint but Continental Coin Corporation.
I looked for the New Queensland Mint but no clue anywhere, just that article on page 1360.
It state that there is not any New Queensland Mint in Australia and this mint should be out of Australia.
So by looking at others New Queensland Mint tokens I end up on this one:
Thanks to that, we can see that the director of the New Queensland Mint is Todd Parker.
So looking at who is this guy I end up on this 1987 article who sais:
"After 25 years of dealing in gold and silver, Todd Parker doesn’t like to take chances.
He won’t pose for photographs, mindful of kidnaping threats. “It’s a serious problem in today’s terrorist environment,” he said. The address on his driver’s license is his place of business, Continental Coin Corp."
So going back to the initial token:
It make sense to have New Queensland Mint and the CC mintmark on the same token as New Queensland Mint = Continental Coin Corp.
So all those coins can be set up to the Continental Coin Corp.
