Hello,
I just made a change so that the quotes are ignored. The value in the “face value” filter works anyway for the exact match only.
More generally, searching for “2 euro” coins is limited by two factors:
- It's not possible to search by currency.
- The search for face value “2 euro” matches both “2 euro” and “2 euro cents”.
As mentioned in the FAQ, when searching by face value, the search results will show the items for which the numeric face value and/or the text face value matches your input.
Do you think this should be changed? For example, if only numbers are entered (as an integer (e.g. “2”), a fraction (e.g. "1/2"), or a range (e.g. "1-3")), the search could rely on the numeric face value only.
The drawback is that it would make the search dependent on which main unit is chosen for each currency, which is sometimes a subjective choice for older currencies. For example, you may expect to search for 1 denier coins of the county of Anjou by filtering the face value with the value “1”, but no results would be returned as the main unit was set as the “livre”, which equals 240 deniers.
