I searched for face values of “2 euro” and “5 cents” and there were no results. Similar searches as a general search instead of a face value search do product results (but more than I want).

Quotation marks are not for filters and even if they would work they would still get hits with euro cents.

The problem is that 2 hits both 2 and 0.02 euro also a search like THIS doesn't work for the Eurozone.

If the Face value field has different allowable criteria than the general search field them there should be a search tip button explaining what is allowed in the field.

THIS query filters out at least the cents but a specific material filter might work better if you just want 2 Euro coins.

Hello,

I just made a change so that the quotes are ignored. The value in the “face value” filter works anyway for the exact match only.

More generally, searching for “2 euro” coins is limited by two factors:

  1. It's not possible to search by currency.
  2. The search for face value “2 euro” matches both “2 euro” and “2 euro cents”.

As mentioned in the FAQ, when searching by face value, the search results will show the items for which the numeric face value and/or the text face value matches your input.

Do you think this should be changed? For example, if only numbers are entered (as an integer (e.g. “2”), a fraction (e.g. "1/2"), or a range (e.g. "1-3")), the search could rely on the numeric face value only.

The drawback is that it would make the search dependent on which main unit is chosen for each currency, which is sometimes a subjective choice for older currencies. For example, you may expect to search for 1 denier coins of the county of Anjou by filtering the face value with the value “1”, but no results would be returned as the main unit was set as the “livre”, which equals 240 deniers.

Thank you for removing the quotes.

I tried several searches and search by face value is working quite well. (The only strange things I found were a few coin listing errors.)

I think “2 euro” vs “2 euro cent” can't be reasonably handled just using a face value search (but there are various ways to address that issue).

Only a question about this: can be “2 euro -cent” (without quotes)?

Edit: I answer myself: This is not allowed.

Wanted & swap list (euro coins & world coins, exonumia and banknotes circulated) https://goo.gl/AQjfKp - I have euro & world CC coins for swap.
