Okay, so here is a preview of what's going to happen. The submissions for the second MPCC will start the moment the first one is over. Full rules will be explained then.

Categories will be as follows:

A. Europe
B. Asia
C. Africa
D. North and South America
E. Australia and Pacific Islands
F. Other

This will be the first MPCC with a French counterpart, thanks to apuking!

Nothing new, but I would like to mention that although I will accept coins entered in MPCC I, I want to see new coins. Category winners will not be valid for re-submission at all.

Also, the sub rounds will have a cooler look, I am working on it.

Who can't wait till MPCC II?????  :)
Cita: dptashnyOkay, new rule!

Stick to the contest!

Any chance at resuming normal conversations as they come up under the coin topics? Wouldn't want to take part in another silent, flawless and easy to moderate contest. There is no incentive for me to provide photos for such a charade.

So you want MPCC II to get sidetracked?

I think people misunderstood me. If the conversations get sidetracked, that is OK. What I don't want is a conversation that totally distracts us from the contest itself. Even if it is not about coins, I am fine with that. Just don't totally take your mind off the contest. What's an MPCC without voters?
Cita: dptashnySo you want MPCC II to get sidetracked?
I want the coins, their history and those willing to converse, to generate any discussion that comes to mind. dptashny, how does one get sidetracked as a result of taking part in a public discussion, on an open forum, under the category of FREE DISCUSSION? Please explain.

I did not appreciate the discussions getting halted for no real reason, the confusion to some about what was being said and then the gloating about how easy it was to moderate as a result of silence. Especially since no part of anyone's posts were actually altered or deleted for offensive behaviour or derogatory comments.

Believe me, I held my tongue for the remainder of the contest. Now, since you mention a MPCC II and rules, I just want to know before you start. Silence on the forum does not make it fun for me.
I think you are being really unfair. What I was pertaining to was the fact that everyone was really positive about the contest.
The reason I stopped the conversation on the thread you keep referring to is that it was inappropriate. Free Discussion doesn't mean you can slag off the French if you want to. Ok, I didn't get the joke...but if I told you that WW3 was going to happen and you dug a trench and then a tank came past you I'm sure you would surrender. (This is absurd!)
For some reason you are cross with me...but I've only kept the forum following the policy. The thread was getting offensive, not historical and that is why I called a halt to that conversation. The thread actually hijacked (unintentionally) the MPCC and I'm sure that is why dtashny wanted to get things back on track. I don't wish to silence anyone, just make it a forum policy abiding forum.
Cita: bam777... just make it a forum policy abiding forum.
Perfect, you make a conscious effort not to disrupt or stop topics, unless of course you understand them and have a legitimate policy breach to correct, and I'll do my best to continue abiding by the rules, and at the same time I'll give you a break. You stop pointing out petty things, I'll stop pointing out petty things. Your personal opinion of what is and isn't offensive seems to be very selective and shouldn't be a factor when you are acting as a moderator (that's like a fair referee who does his best to make sure a clean fight/discussion continues). Let me know if that works for you.

I don't get cross or personal, I simply react to and form opinions on, whatever is presented to me on the forum platform. Keep in mind, I'm not the moderator and that is why I do take sides in discussions.
Sometimes opinions cross lines. Saying that you "simply react to and form opinions" does not place you in a position of neutrality on any given issue. If your opinionated posts becomes too extreme for this sites policies, then it is the moderators position to address these posts.

I'm not here to be neutral, I already stated that, when I said I take sides. I do not form my comments as a personal attack on bam777, I simply react and form opinions on what is going on.

Can you tell me why this discussion was stopped in it's tracks and why no posts were altered for derogatory language or improper behaviour? Looks to me like someone just wants their job to be easier, so they throw in a general comment about, "...getting a little too political". 8)

Dan man, how many coins are we each entering ? I will get my lot ready as I'm not really expecting any new coins.

One per category max.
Also, torontokuba, if you don't want to enter because things that are not allowed by the forum policy are not allowed in the contest, don't enter. I have plenty of enthusiastic people who will enter.

Really, that's a load off my back.

Cita: dptashnyPlease, I need more entries. Neilithic, if you don't enter a coin in the Australia and Pacific Islands category, I will combine it with Asia. This contest will be CANCELLED if I don't receive more submissions.
Cita: dptashnyI would like to specifically thank torontokuba for entering a lot of coins.

I'm sure you can extend deadlines, make new rules and move the start of the contest until you get the desired number of coins. I wish you a ton of fun in MPCC II.

As far as policy is concerned, it should probably be in breach, before you guys decide to enforce it again.
Can we not have north America and south America separate ? Will make things more interesting I think !

Not going to happen.

Yes!

I have some really nice Peruvian 1/2 Sol coins which I would like to enter but that would mean I can't enter any of my US coins.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.

a big shame !
Yes, I think that is quite a nice idea. What was your reasoning behind grouping them anyway?
Fine, enough protests  ;) :

B. Asia
C. Africa
D. North America

What about Greenland then eh?

Just kidding my dear fellow, thanks for accomodating the change.

Thanks for considering this. I look forward to having my South American coins added!

What about Central America?  :O  Just kidding!
This gives me a little leeway but still leaves me struggling between two amazing coins ! And I'm really at a loss at which to use - one from Canada and the other Bermuda ! Can I not fit the Bermuda one in under Europe through some sort of loophole ? Being a British overseas territory ?  X-D
I think I have the winner here like !
