Always there are random changes in the Numista issuers, I like to keep my collection in the same way Numista choses too, but it is hard to track what was moved and why.

Using the API I can check some changes in the list, and there is this excellent site made by friends that does that:

https://issuerstracker.org/

BUT, my question is, why we need a thir party control if the site already have this information?

I know this subject was mentioned several times in the forum but always was something unclear like “yeah we have this thread”, but is almost never updated.

I had 912 issuers yesterday, now I have 911. Could be pointless for most people, but I want to know which one was moved (maybe to exonumia? I dont know).

Suggestion: Tracking issuers catalog changes working programmatically  “live” and not when a referee wants to tell.

They are not “random”, you know… 😑

It works very well, I use it too ^^

When I started using Numista I spent a LOT of time copying my database with my collection.

I wanted it to be a perfect reflection of my database spreadsheet.

That worked for a short time only… I have long since abandoned all hope to keep a copy of my collection on Numista! It proved impossible to follow the constant change of issuers, countries and coins switching categories into exonumia (or vice versa).

Too bad because I was using this site very often and was contemplating if I would pay for extra space to put my own pictures. I'm glad I didn't because that would have been a waste!

Another thing is that I collect coins minted since modern times (starting ca. 1750-1800) and 99% of issuers added are not relevant for me… Issuerstracker.org is very helpful though!

I propose to create a page where a user could see when there are any changes made in the catalog such that either (a) the list of issuers present in user's collection increases or decreases (mergers, splits, deaths, births and rebirths), or (b) such issuers are renamed or moved to a different place in general hierarchy, or (c) when user loses or gains new types of coins (because something has been moved to/from exonumia).

It would be similar to issuerstracker.org, but personalized, i.e. only the information relevant to one's collection should be shown.

It's a nice tool, but there are so many changes that don't correlate to my own collection that searching through all these changes is laborious.
I just regularly follow the evolution of the list of issuers in my own collection and (try to) understand this evolution.

Interesting to note that the transfer to the United States had been in the works for a long time 😜

Well and good, but the list of changes is not personalized, it is site-wide.
