The currency of the Ionian Islands under British rule was divided into two periods. Between 1819 and 1834, 4 lepta = 1 obol whilst, between 1834 and 1864, 5 lepta = 1 obol. The obol was equal to the British half penny throughout. At the moment, we have a single currency:
Obol (1819-1863)
4 Lepta = 1 Obol
This either needs splitting into two at 1834 or we could have
Obol (1819-1863)
4 Lepta = 1 Obol (1819-1834); 5 Lepta = 1 Obol (1834-1864)
Once we have decided which fix to apply, the denomination for this coin needs changing to “1 Lepton (1⁄5)” and the bizarre denomination of this coin, currently “30 Lepta (6⁄1)”, needs correcting to “30 Lepta (6)”.
