Searching 0.5 and or 1/2

When I search the (km23) with ½ qirsh I get the proper result without giving the km#

When I search the (km23) with 0.5 qirsh I don't get the proper result without giving the km# (the 5 coins found are all 5 halala!

The search machine probably has a problem to convert 0.5 into ½ or maybe it's the coin information, which is wrong? Anyway, I consider that as a bug! Please check ¼ (0.25) etc?

½ qirsh is 5 halalas, maybe that is why it is showing like this

Try it with .5 qirsh instead of 0.5 qirsh.

Anyway, Numista has to change that, it's not coherent at all! Those explanations have not solved the problem.

If you use the value search rather than the general search it’s not a problem. The general search looks for matches of the characters not the value. 
 

In the general search for USA ½ cent, yes 0.5 cent no. But both work in the value filter. 

No, it's not a bug. I don't know Saudi Arabia coins but I just looked at the values in number and ½ qirsh is a 1/44 of currency unit (1 qirsh is a 1/22 of rial). Numeral search works only for values where we have 1/44 (which is not 0.5). You found results for search “ ½ ” because this is general text search.

Hence 1 qirsh is not true, following the numista logic it should be 1/22 of a rial, thus not searchable as 1 qirsh? Where is the logic?

If a unit is called ONE qirsh, the half of that unit is definitely ONE HALF qirsh, right? 

Numista's way of thinking is complicated to the extreme, but as well correct for the value of coin relatively to the largest unit, but that's only nice to know, but without a relation to coins in question, since on the coin it's written 1 or ½, not 1/22 or 1/44!
