I have just found the ‘Contemporary Counterfeit’ section and have some additions…
1997 Counterfeit - 1 Pound - Elizabeth II 3rd portrait; Celtic Cross - Additional line required for 1996 (see below). Edge lettering is poorly defined and misaligned and there is unusually smooth wear on both sides. The coin is also not centered well on the planchet. The feel of the coin is also wrong due to the metal content being different (it feels softer).

Counterfeit - 1 Pound - Elizabeth II 2nd portrait; Scottish Thistle - Edge lettering is too large and misaligned and there is unusual wear especially on the obverse side with the date being completely invisible. The coin is also not centered well on the planchet and is far too dark in colour. Also, the metal feels completely wrong (too soft and slightly soapy).

Counterfeit - 1 Pound - Elizabeth II 4th portrait; Gateshead Millennium Bridge - Edge pattern is misaligned and does not line up and there is unusual wear on both sides. The coin is also not centered well on the planchet and is slightly too light in colour. The feel of the coin is also wrong due to the metal content being different.

Counterfeit - 1 Pound - Elizabeth II 4rd portrait; English Lions (Add 2002) The edge cross (pictured) is mis-aligned with the lettering and some of the side lettering too high. Coin is also not completely square on the planchet, an error that is unlikely to pass inspection at the Royal Mint, and there is high wear in unusual places. The feel of the coin is also wrong due to the metal content being different, but the colour is a good match.
