Canada, 1985, 1 dollar Mule, why is it listed?

Hello!

I have a question about the reason this coin was listed in the catalog. If I understand correctly numista catalog does not list errors, but this coin is an error coin. I don't think listing it is different from listing any coins from other countries that have been struck on wrong planchets.

Thank you for your answers!

When it gets its own Krause number it should be listed.

Should this Mule Coin have a separate Numista Page? [solved] – Numista

I see. It seems reasonable. But then I have an another question. Some of the not government sanctioned coins are also listed in Krause catalog as coins, but we do not put them into the coins section. For example there was a discussion about the Western Saharan coins, and it was decided not to place them in coin catalog. So in this case I see a very selective use of this rule. Because in some cases the coin gets listed, and in another it doesn't, but both are listed as coins in Krause. Does the rule works differently in those cases and if does, why?

Only the upper “echelons” would know that!

Mule coins warrant listing in the coin catalogue - not only those that are well-known to the numismatic community.
