I had a €2 coin in my change today, but due to the very small writing on the coin, was unable to determine the country of issue.

I thought that by using the search system it would have been easy, but regretfully not.

When I typed in 2 Euro or ‘2 Euro', I got 2,258 coins over 46 pages, but not only did I get other face value euro coins, but coins from countries that are not even in the Euro system.

I eventually found the coin on page 24, but surely there must be a system that only gives me exactly what I requested.

I'm just a collector of coins, not a slave to it, unless I am in a coin shop.

Without your search provided there is not much we can help you with.
Have you just used the simple search or used filters etc.?

HERE would be my search for all 2 Euro coins for example.

I just used the ‘search query' at the top of the screen.

I used the filters just a minute ago and got just 642 coins, so I suppose, if I also include the diameter, it will only show me the coins I want. I will try it later as off for a walk in the Spanish sunshine

Never used the filters before, so thanks for your help

Yes, use the filters. That's what they're for. You want the General search to be “general” returning hits in the title, descriptions, comments, etc.  Search for what you know, a €2 coin from change (circulation). Search1   Now you're down to 473 hits.  Add a year which you can probably read (say 2014) and you're down to 61 hits.  Search2

And with this search with the added diameter you're even better, but that's obvious.

After my very hot walk I used the filters, and added 2 Euro and the diameter, I obtained exactly what I wanted. I shall have to remember it.

Many thanks for help in resolving my little enigma.

I also see that my post has a down vote, to something that already exists-strange.

I see the down vote as a member just saying that you get the result with the present filters! So no standard search for 2 euro specifically. I'm OK with that. The only problem is to rember how. ?FAQ? My searches?

I have almost stopped using the main search bar for reasons like that, especially for a UK coin.  I swear type United Kingdom and ANY year after and you're lucky if you don't have to scroll through 8 pages of Australia first.  The filters are helpful for avoiding that.
