Which coin of the same year should I add?

So, you probably answered this question too many times before…

Many of the coins I am trying to add have variants of the same year, and I don't know how to differentiate them. 

See below: how would I know which of the 3 to add?

In your case, you should pick the first option, which is the variant that effectively circulated.

The other two are coins with a special finish and low mintage that are released and sold directly to collectors.
