I think there should be a section on this website where a person visiting to a country can notify about his visit so that all those in that country, with an interest to make a swap, can contact the visitor. I think it will be conducive to easier and perhaps memorable swaps.

But that does not denote an in-person swap; which, not only would save a lot of postage cost, free from the worry of losing items in the mail but also completing the swap much quicker.
I realize that we can announce our visit there but I think a dedicated section would rather be a better option.
I think a visitors section should be set up for all the 1 post wonders who just want to know if some coin they have is worth money too. Especially if their coin is a rare type bought of some Chinese website or flea market seller and is 100% el fako.
I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.

The OP is talking about a Visitor's section for members visiting a foreign country. You are talking about people visiting the Numista website. These are two very different things.
Maybe the swap section could be improved so that the list of users could be filtered to distinguish people who want to swap in person, and others who swap by mail only. In uCoin users can specify this preference in the settings section. :)

I doubt people will bother checking boxes like that, besides what if you're going on holiday to a country and want to do some in-person swaps, it's much easier to just make a post saying that instead of changing account settings and not actually telling people.
Let me try to explain it again. I am visiting Malaysia and I was hoping to make swaps there so I'd had to message everyone from Malaysia asking if they were interested. And I received only one reply.
It would have been much more convenient, had I just posted in the Visitors' Section and all the active and willing members contact me, rather than me writing to each one of them personally.
Imagine that with a country with a large number of users, that would be a really a huge hassle.
And this would also be fun knowing who's going where and whether anyone coming to my country etc so that was the whole thought behind it.
I think you should change the subject of this topic. When I read “Visitors' Section” it seems you want add a new forum for visitors post. I suggest “Facilitate in-person swaps” or similar.
Can be added:
An option in “My account settings > Notifications”:
When someone look for an in-person swap in my country 🔲 Send me a private message
If I want receive PM about in-person swaps in my country, I check this option.
A section in my profile for send these messages:
I look for an in-person swap in [SELECT_COUNTRY] [TEXT FIELD FOR WRITE A MESSAGE] [BUTTON Send message to collectors]
If I visit a country I write an offer in my profile and click on button “Send message to collectors”. All members from that country that look for an in-person swap will receive my message.
Wanted & swap list (euro coins & world coins, exonumia and banknotes circulated) https://goo.gl/AQjfKp - I have euro & world CC coins for swap.

I really don’t see the benefit of a separate section for that. When I went to Antwerp, I posted that in the swap forum and got a few replies. A swap is a swap, whether you do it by mail or in person.

A benefit: people like me that I do not visit the forum (I visit only the “Numista website” forum, for suggestion, and little-else) do not see the topics that look for swaps.
I request/get swaps by PM and using the swap monitor. This suggestion will add other option.

If you don't use the forum then why should you be able to swap here without reading it?
The forum way of asking for swaps (by mail or in-person) is already fine as-is.

My idea https://en.numista.com/forum/topic148896.html#p1180191 for this suggestion is independent of the forum, works only with PMs. I will receive PM with in-person swaps offers, without needing to access the forum.

But you would reach an incredibly smaller portion of the userbase that way…
If you post a thread in the swap section with something that says in-person swap, everyone who checks the forum often will see it and be able to respond. it's mad to think any more than a small handful of users will go through lists of users with a profile option selected, and how often do you think they will check?
Perhaps a hybrid solution could be created, where an icon indicates what type of swap is requested. An envelope for a “regular” swap by mail and a handshake icon for a swap in person, just like we do in the catalog section.
But you would reach an incredibly smaller portion of the userbase that way…

The user does not need check the profiles to look for an option “I want in-person swaps”. I did not say this.
I explain again…
There are two types of users:
Target users: these are users who want to receive in-person swap offers in their country. These users only need to select the option in their settings:
When someone look for an in-person swap in my country 🔲 Send me a private message (this is a private setting, not a public)
The number of users with this option selected can be nobody, 1, 2... or hundreds of people.
Visitor user: this is the user who will visit a country. This user only needs to send a message with an in-person swap offer through the button in their profile:
I look for an in-person swap in [SELECT_COUNTRY] [TEXT FIELD FOR WRITE A MESSAGE] [BUTTON Send message to collectors]
The visitor user does not search for target users, only sends one message. The system sends this message to all target users.
The visitor user does not know who the target users of their swap offer are, or how many they are.
All the targets users will receive the message from the visitor user (and they know who the visitor user is).
When a target user receives the message with the swap offer from the visitor user, they can respond to the offer or ignore it.

I read your post multiple times, but it really makes no sense to me. You want to message all users in a country when someone goes to visit it and wants to swap? That really sounds messed up…

To my understanding: Only to those who have allowed it in the setting.

Yes, that is right.
And the more filters this feature has, the fewer unwanted/useless messages will receive the target users, and the fewer messages will send by system. For example, the target users will receive messages from visitor user if…
the target user has record their country, and the in-person swap offer is about this country;
the target user has unchecked the setting option “ I don't want to exchange at all for the moment: other members can't open a swap with me.”.
More filters?
