Gold, Germany - Deutsches Reich, 20 Mark Schaumburg Lippe 1898 - fake or real?

i 've got a coin from a friend of mine, a german 20 mark gold coin - identification wise, i am sure which one it is N#47270 but i am not sure if it is legit or a fake. What are your thought?

If there are further pictures required, please let me know.

You need to check size and weight of the coin, but from your pictures it looks real, not fake

in regards to weight and dimensions it is fine - more or less 

diameter 22,56mm

thickness 1,44mm

weight 7,92

it also proofs gold… i am rather concerned about the edge-lettering…

Sorry, I cannot find an example of the edge for comparison.

Unfortunately,  my opinion is that your example is not authentic. It may be of gold content but I see too many  details that are off to my eye. The hair and beard for starters.

You are right, if i overlay the pictures, i certainly see differences. so the tendency is, that it is a replicated coin using actual gold. 

I did do the numis doc test and it tells me, it is 900 gold.. sell it for scrap then?

Yes, nobody likes to hear that but unfortunately that is what I believe you have. I get a lot of grief from many that refuse to see what they don't want to see but it screams replica to me. Sorry. Selling it is your decision but that is what I would do. Take the gold value and get this replica off the market so nobody else is second guessing what it is. 

Just a thought. Maybe wait for others to chime in if you want to be absolutely certain as to what it is and what to do with it. 

Edit. Another thought. Maybe even consider entering in the Numista Exonumia Contemporary Counterfeits catalog as a learning example for those facing a similar issue with this type coin. Then dispose of it.
