Are these types of objects duplicates?

About the category “Spiritual tokens”, see https://en.numista.com/forum/topic151605.html#p1195196

  • Banknotes
    • 89 -> Banknote patterns and trials
    • 91 -> Banknote pattern → This is an old category to remove?

@Xavier you have another possible duplicate here (in first message).

Wanted & swap list (euro coins & world coins, exonumia and banknotes circulated) https://goo.gl/AQjfKp - I have euro & world CC coins for swap.

I fixed the description of the type 192 → Good luck tokens.

I would prefer keeping a category for East Asian charms distinct from western luck tokens. They have a different history, they usually have a different shape, and there are many of them, even if the category on Numista is quite small for the moment.

We have a lot of New Year tokens too. Maybe they could deserve a separate category too.

What do you think about the following structure?

  • Spiritual tokens
    • Religious tokens
Tokens that are used during religious activities.
    • Good luck tokens
Tokens that are believed to bring luck to their holder.
      • Asian charms
Coin-like objects that are believed to offer spiritual protection or attract good luck in East Asian cultures.
      • New Year tokens
Tokens gifted around the new year and believed to bring luck.

Ok, I translated.

I agree. What about the Western lucky tokens? A new category here?

But Good luck tokens are tokens or medals? Do you buy something with they?

I guess they are tokens, with no value to buy things…

There are not “Western lucky tokens” here:

Xavier

  • Spiritual tokens
    • Religious tokens
Tokens that are used during religious activities.
    • Good luck tokens
Tokens that are believed to bring luck to their holder.
      • Asian charms
Coin-like objects that are believed to offer spiritual protection or attract good luck in East Asian cultures.
      • New Year tokens
Tokens gifted around the new year and believed to bring luck.

What would the tree of types look like? An example:

  • Spiritual tokens
    • Religious tokens
Tokens that are used during religious activities.
    • Good luck tokens
Tokens that are believed to bring luck to their holder.
      • Asian charms (now “Charms”)
Coin-like objects that are believed to offer spiritual protection or attract good luck in East Asian cultures.
      • Western lucky tokens
Coin-like objects that are believed to offer spiritual protection or attract good luck in Western cultures.
      • New Year tokens
Tokens gifted around the new year and believed to bring luck.

Perhaps I would replace “Coin-like objects” with “Coin-like tokens” in the descriptions to avoid misunderstandings and saying they are tokens.
