(EN) Together with the Bank of La Coruña, they were the only issuing banks that operated in the Community of Galicia under the Banking Law of January 28, 1856, although this one was less successful than that one. Its constitution was approved by Royal Decree of May 15, 1864. The majority of the promoters were local merchants, although there were also shareholders from other cities. With a capital of 3 million reales vellón, it could have reached an issue of up to 9 million, although it seems that it did not exceed one million, of which not even 200,000 reales were circulated at the times of greatest demand. This poor circulation, despite the efforts of its shareholders meeting to promote it, together with a series of irregularities in management, led to the decision to officially request the dissolution and liquidation of the company, approved by decree of February 23, 1870. According to the documentation of the time, the usual banknotes were put into circulation, that is, 100, 200, 500, 1,000, 2,000 and 4,000 reales de vellón.

Su constitución fue aprobada por Real Decreto de 15 de mayo de 1864. La mayoría de los promotores fueron comerciantes locales, aunque también había accionistas de otras ciudades. Con un capital de 3 millones de reales de vellón, pudo haber alcanzado una emisión de hasta 9 millones, aunque parece que no pasó del millón, del que no llegaron a circular ni 200.000 reales en los momentos de mayor demanda. Esta escasa circulación, a pesar de los esfuerzos de su junta de accionistas por propiciarla, junto con una serie de irregularidades en la gestión, llevaron a la decisión de solicitar oficialmente la disolución y liquidación de la sociedad, aprobada por decreto de 23 de febrero de 1870. Según la documentación de la época, se pusieron en circulación los billetes habituales, es decir, de 100, 200, 500, 1.000, 2.000 y 4.000 reales de vellón.
