Similarly to last year, I would like to share the list of 7 major changes planned for Numista in 2025:
Finish the literature project, including creation and modification of articles, adding books and journal issues to collections, and other smaller adjustments.
Catalogue mint sets and other forms of packaging (coin cards, rolls) produced by the issuing entity.
Produce automatic catalogue modification requests as an extension to the current catalogue improvement hints.
With regards to Literature project, is it only listing titles, and general data, or also there is room for PDF articles?
My question is because I have a collection of publications free to read, and I can share them. Only detail is that all of them are in Spanish.
If they may be published, just let me know and will send them in the way you indicate.
Best regards,
Daniel,
Uruguay.
Just 10 options: you understand binary, or you don't.
Catalog Referee Coins, Banknotes & Exonumia: Uruguay, Cuba, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Paraguay, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Panama, Ecuador, Zamunda, Parva Domus and more.
Thank you for this, it is nice to know the direction of travel as it makes making changes to the catalogue worthwhile knowing the plug isnt going to be suddenly pulled.
@Xavier , what about adding ‘Language’ as an additional information field?
It is pointless to have only a type of alphabet or script described without indicating what language is being described as well.
Aidan.
Interesting point. But in such case, would need to be able to select more then one, as there are many items showing two or more languages.

About copyright, is stated on the publication "El Instituto Uruguayo de Numismática no se responsabiliza por las opiniones vertidas por sus colaboradores en sus trabajos. Se autoriza la reproducción total o parcial indicando la fuente informativa." (Is allowed total or partial reproduction, indicating the source).
I have all issues updated to date on my drive, and other 2 publication series, also made by IUN. On the other hand, I am currently vicepresident of IUN, so I can mail authorization, if needed.
Regards,
Daniel.

It would be great to host these publications on Numista. We'll add a way to upload PDFs.
Thank you, I will wait for your news.

As always, great work and great choice of topics to improve and implement. I miss some things, but I suppose each of us will miss something.
The following topics generate special expectations for me:
Catalogue Mint sets: Could we have an idea of how this option is planned to be implemented? Will it only be Mint Sets, or also tourist sets and other "unofficial" ones? What will be the approximate format?
Produce automatic catalogue modification requests: How will this tool work?
Generate the title of coin and banknote pages automatically in all languages: I like this point a lot, but I don't know how it will be implemented, will it be a simple automatic translation into all languages of the existing title or will a new system be created to enter the title, to standardize the system?
Many thanks for all this great job!!!
Oscar
Coin referee for: Andorra, Equatorial Guinea, Marshall Islands, Moldova, Liberia and Spain

For the Mint sets. Xavier said “Catalogue mint sets and other forms of packaging (coin cards, rolls) produced by the issuing entity”
Generate the title of coin and banknote pages automatically in all languages
The idea is that title will be generated based on some other fields - namely denomination and ruler for instance.

At least from the start, robot will operate based on some logical arguments (you can see them as hints today). For example, it would detect missing Lao script on reverse of this note: N#203143 based on presence of Lao characters in lettering. Then it will produce a request for a referee to add Lao script.
A few additional information on top of Jarcek's answer:
To generate the titles automatically, we will need to add a few more fields to store information that are currently stored only in the title, such as the coin nickname and distinguishing feature. The title will be generated based on these new fields and other existing fields. This way, there won't be a need to write the title manually (which is cumbersome if you don't know the guidelines by heart), improve consistency, and have titles translated in all languages. For example, German people looking at a German coin on the German version of Numista will see the name of the ruler in German in the title, instead of English as today.
The long term goal for automatic requests is to go beyond the current hints, for example if a coin is missing the unabridged legend and another coin has the same legend and the unabridged legend is filled, a request could be submitted to add the unabridged legend on the page of the first coin, so that it can be added in one click by the referee. Another use case is to use AI vision to add a description of the obverse and reverse based on the picture.
I didn't plan custom fields, but I don't exclude it either. All the fields mentioned in the thread you linked are planned. I can include more if needed, just tell me what you need
The presence of these fields will be customizable. We can plan as many fields as needed and people who are not interested won't see them.

When working on this, please consider to add a field for comments (or the current comments in variety lines), that may be used without having registered items on them. This would be useful for add notes before adding the item; like when a certain variant, year, etc. is wished.
Note, when a comment or private comment is added, automatically 1 item is added to the line.

Thank you! I know you are on several projects at same time, so no hurries.

Current titles of pages of coins and banknotes have the denominations at the beginning. These can be removed from the title and display the denominations of the page (which will translate) in the same position (before the new title):
Current title = 1 Centime (5th republic) New titile = (5th republic) New title displayed = denomination + new title = 1 Centime (5th republic) Same result, less translation work.
More things can be done, but it this is a start:
remove from titles the name of rulers, commemorative events, series... that are in the page and can displayed in the search results or within the title…
Wanted & swap list (euro coins & world coins, exonumia and banknotes circulated) https://goo.gl/AQjfKp - I have euro & world CC coins for swap.
As far as the coin sets are concerned, there are a few interogrations that come to me spontaneously.
I'm wondering how it's going to work with coins that have only been made in coin sets (for example). Will the page stay in the coins and be linked to the coin set page? If so, will we need to add both the coin and the coin set to our collection?
Will the mintage of the current coins have to be separated from the mintage of the coin sets?
And for the automatically-generated titles, can they be changed by hand if necessary?
Hoping a few small changes to ‘swapping’ can be incorporated as ‘minor’ changes:
1) On swap page, show name of issuer instead of just the image of the flag. 2) On exporting swap to Excel include the coin's 'condition/grade' field and - if it is populated - the Numista value listed for that coin at that grade.
It will be a LOT easier to balance swaps via spreadsheet with at least the grade, and preferably both.

And also related to swaps, this idea is already accepted: "A "sent" tab for swaps", it would be great to see it implemented, with 33 upvotes in this topic:
