As we all know, the HK $10 coin (N#1581) has 4 years, 1993, 1994, 1995 and 1996. But when I was surfing Internet, I saw a 1998 coin. It has already been authenticated by PCGS (https://www.pcgs.com.cn/cert/40892780). Some people claim it is counterfeit, while others believe it is a survivor among the batch of coins originally minted for circulation but destroyed soon.

If we can't believe the money making grading companies anymore ….

It certainly is rare, it was sold for 4800 $.

There is a discussion on Zhihu. (https://zhuanlan.zhihu.com/p/651791290)

Someone sent an email to Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and HKMA claimed that they had never issued such a coin.

So, are the 1998 coins genuine or fake?

So, should someone add the year 1998 on the N#1581 page?
