Series dedicated to the dragon and the phoenix. In Chinese mythology, the dragon and phoenix are often depicted in an eternal harmonious dance, symbolising the perfect balance of yin and yang. The dragon represents the masculine, with its strength and power, while the phoenix embodies the feminine, representing grace and beauty. Together, they signify the harmonious union of opposites.
The series consists of nine coins of different denominations and composition (silver, gold and bimetallic), minted by the Shenyang mint between 1989 and 1994. The obverses depict the Great Wall of China, and the reverses depict a dragon and a phoenix.
