Victor Villanueva Vadillo was added as assayer in the Royal Mint of Spain
VV – Victor Villanueva Vadillo, Assayer, Royal Mint of Spain (1937)
because he is in the source https://www.enumismatic.com/mints_ens.php?id_ceca=49&search=vadillo (it actually says (ES) fiel-contraste en Burgos (EN) assayer in Burgos) but I now realice that this is wrong.
The only coin (I think) with the initials “VV” is N#3971, with
- Mint: Münze Österreich (not the Royal Mint of Spain)
- Engraver of reverse: Victor Villanueva Vadillo
- I can not add “VV” in other marks, because he is not associated with the Münze Österreich
On the other hand, in 1937 Spain was in the midst of a Civil War and the Mint of Spain was controlled by the Second Republic. The first coins minted by the Royal Mint of Spain with Francisco Franco are from 1940.
Do this:
- Remove mark from the Royal Mint of Spain https://en.numista.com/catalogue/mint.php?id=24
VV – Victor Villanueva Vadillo – Assayer – 1937 - Add mark to Münze Österreich https://en.numista.com/catalogue/mint.php?id=232
VV – Victor Villanueva Vadillo – Weight Master – 1937
