The currency code for the bolivar digital currently says VES, shouldn't it say VED?

Hello,

This question was previously raised in https://en.numista.com/forum/topic113494.html

Venezuela actually kept the code VES even after the redenomination.

QuoteThe Bolívar Soberano (VES) is redenominated by removing six zeros from the denominations. A new currency code VED/926 representing the new valuation (1,000,000 times old VES/928) is introduced on 1 October 2021 for any internal needs during the redenomination process, but is not replacing VES as the official currency code. The Central Bank of Venezuela will not adopt the new codes in the local system, VES/928 remains in use.
The actual currency code VES/928 remains the valid code after 1 October 2021 to use in any future transactions to indicate the redenominated Bolívar Soberano.

Hi,
You're right. I just found this on wikipedia and just assumed it would be correct, sorry.

I didn't see this thread before, therefore, I have started this one: https://en.numista.com/forum/topic173999.html#p1322354

Now, according to text quoted by Xavier “A new currency code VED/926 representing the new valuation (1,000,000 times old VES/928) is introduced on 1 October 2021 for any internal needs during the redenomination process, but is not replacing VES as the official currency code. The Central Bank of Venezuela will not adopt the new codes in the local system, VES/928 remains in use.

The actual currency code VES/928 remains the valid code after 1 October 2021 to use in any future transactions to indicate the redenominated Bolívar Soberano.”

I understand both codes are active now (or at that time), and VES/928 was kept for use on transactions when using the old currency only.

I don't see it is started Bolivar digital code is VES; each currency have their own numeric and alpha codes (VES/928 and VED/926).

Again, there is nothing stating code VES/926

I still think code should be updated to show the difference.

I copy the list I found (resumed for convenience):

Just 10 options: you understand binary, or you don't.
