Question about swaps

Pubblicazioni di 2 • visto 37 volte

Hello,

I'm new to this website. Just wanted to ask:

So from my understanding ungraded coins are not assigned a price. I have quite a few coins available for swap, which I have not added yet. Grade is subjective (coins might have a small scratch or a stain, but all the details are still there etc.) usually I just sent photos or scans instead, so the person can decide for themselves.

So how I can tell that we're swapping for equal value? Maybe more information shows up after I click "ask to swap"?

Hello and welcome to Numista!

Nope, you can enter any grade and any value (or none) you want and so can your swap partner. You can and usually should ask for pictures and then decide for yourself if it's a fair trade then make adjustments if necessary. So does your partner. Eventually you both come to agreement and confirm the swap or not and deny the swap and move on. Remember, it's only the two involved in the swap that decide and Numista does not get involved. At the end of a swap you rate your partner and they rate you. If you were promised one coin and received another you can work it out with your partner before ending the swap.  If you can't work it out a low rating with the reason will be seen by anyone wanting to swap with the same person.  Have you read this?

How can I swap coins, banknotes and exonumia on Numista? and the other swap articles on the FAQ page?
