I have a question about this coin:
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces9099.html/
The Numista webpage for this coin indicates it was minted in Paris, France, and that it should have a and engraver-general's privy mark (torch). I have looked over my example of this coin and could not find a torch privy mark, nor can I see a torch privy mark on any of the photographs of this coin on its Numista page.
The description of the privy mark on the Numista page for this coin states that the torch privy mark belongs to someone who didn't become the Paris Mint's engraver-general until 1896, yet the coin in question was minted in an 78 (1881) so the torch privy mark could not possibly be on this coin, right?
I think the indication of a torch privy mark on this particular coin is an error; I couldn't find any privy marks on the coin at all.
