Estimate total value [Risolto]

Hello,

I have a question about the online catalogue. When I add a new item to my collection, I can enter the purchase price, and the system automatically calculates the total amount I paid for my collection. However, the estimated value is not available for all of my items.

How can I add or complete the estimated value so that I can see the total estimated value of my entire collection?

The estimate value is calculated from the Numista values which are a product of the community. So you as an individual can influence the estimate value only in limited ways by adding completed auctions to the cataloge pages as well as providing your own buying value when adding items.

On top of that, items that have only few values entered are not calculated, thus they would not show up in the estimated value.

So does this mean it’s not possible for me to estimate the value of my collection myself?

I was thinking that there could be an option to assign an estimated value to items that don’t have one listed on Numista.

This would be useful because it would allow me to estimate the total value of my collection.

Ive been looing for the same thing. A little pointless as I now have to create a spreadsheet and include my estimated value for insurance etc. Doesn't help me much to see what I paid for coins and not what its estimated to be worth now. Even if its not completely accurate it is useful to me and my account is set to private anyway. 

edit: if I add an estimated value in the notes it doesn't seem to create a tally of these amounts anywhere. 

Put your estimated value for insurance in the Buying value box and problem solved. Or are you suggesting Numista create an estimate value where none exists?
