Hello,

So what happened is that I started to update my collection with the coins received from 2 bigger swaps, so I started to open the coin pages one by one to register the years and compare them to what I have. It was all fun and fine until I basically got blocked. Now my desk is full of coins and I can't put them away… Seriously, what is this? Being a member since 2016 with 810 completed swaps and I just get blocked like  a bot while being logged in? So frustrating.

Edit: And it doesn't even have a time limit it seems like…

I agree. Very annoying. There was a similar complaint recently. I think it was resolved here:  https://en.numista.com/forum/topic161172.html#p1250725

There is a general problem across the web currently of bots, and particularly AI training bots scraping websites for data. This can result in large scale trawling of websites by bots which can put a strain on resources and bandwidth.

Websites need to defend themselves from this malignant activity.

Many of us will have noticed the Cloudflare verification step when interacting with numista - this is also likely a defense against the AI bot activity.

Although we as human users may not like it, I think it is a necessary defensive measure.

I can only advise to open pages in smaller batches. Xavier had to place more strict rules against bots, after several periods of downtime because of these attacks.

I understand this, however I think the site should differentiate between logged-in long time users and not logged-in outsider visitors. For me this is clearly seems like a bad implementation. Other sites use bot protection as well, but never with logged-in users who fit a certain number of criteria (registration date, forum replies etc.). So I think this is a design flaw, punishing real users who are clearly not bots.
