50 Francs - 2013 - HDM - KD-U and KE-J

I was looking at the page for 50 Franc notes from 2013 and have some notes that fall outside the parameters listed and was wondering if the line items should be updated or new lines added.

First, I have this note:

A 2013 from HDM with prefix KD and suffix U with a solid security strip. Based on the notes, this note should have the wider security strip with text. Was there possibly a run of notes on old stock paper by accident? Should the suffix just be added to the solid security thread line?

The second note also dated 2013 from HDM with serial prefix KE with suffix J and a wide security thread with text. Listings indicate only a KD prefix for 2013 and that the KE prefix was first used on the 2020.

I saw in another query that there was no interest in having a listing for each individual suffix, but as this is a different prefix, should it be added to the line about the security thread with text for 2013 or should a new line be created to add this prefix?

There are indeed some inconsistencies in the reference catalogs for banknotes from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Regarding your first question, the suffixes have inconsistencies in other records, but the prefixes seem to have fewer problems. The suggestion is to remove the information from the suffixes, while keeping the prefixes. This way, the catalog will not have any dubious information.

Regarding your second question, about the 2013 KE banknote, just check the type of security strip it has (with or without text) and we will make the adjustments here to include this prefix.
