Alcalá Gate
Add:
- Name (local): Las monedas de la suerte de la Puerta de Alcalá de Madrid
- Description (EN): (see below)
----------------------------
Series dedicated to luck and health, and to the Alcalá Gate in Madrid, applying the colour psychology. The colour psychology is used for associate colours and concepts: red (wealth, happiness), orange (optimism), green (hope, calm), blue (wisdom), pink (love, protection), and purple (serenity). The Alcalá Gate, inaugurated in 1778, is a Neo-classical gate of the former Walls of Philip IV.
The series consists of six tokens made of copper-nickel. The obverses depict the Alcalá Gate on a coloured background, and the reverses reproduce the common side of 1 Euro coins used from 1999 to 2007.
