Is this really a reference catalog?  https://en.numista.com/literature/volume.php?id=347 Seems to really be a sales pitch. For instance this coin N#470343 has this reference number ICMC# 33438300 .  Clicking the reference number link leads you to the page to buy the coin.

It's the same as the Canada Mint stuff its just an item number. In the sense of the word, yes you could reference an object this way but it is definitely not a numismatic catalog but a sales catalog (an online one at that).

I've have already posted that the RCM references should be removed. The two big differences are that the RCM actually makes the coins and the reference numbers aren't linked to a page to purchase the coins. The Israel Coins and Medals Corporation is a privately owned purely commercial enterprise.

I think if the answer to this question “Can I purchase a copy of the reference catalog?” is no then it's not a real reference catalog.

As far as I know we are looking into making it possible to differentiate between actual Reference Book and Reference Website.
