I am sorry, but reCaptcha pictures validations are so F%&#$#&& annoying and we all know what these are for - for some computer to learn how a bicycle looks like (for free). I would really love to be exempt from it. I believe I have proven myself as a positive member by adding now almost 8000 new items and 36k edits. So pretty please disconnect this checking on my side.

I don't think that has anything to do with “proving myself” because last month or so  is REALLY, REALLY annoying to se guessing pics (yes, sometimes they are that bad) or just blank square to clik on it, in order to continue using Numista.

Sometimes, every turn of page is… “Wait…” Than after few minutes… “Wait… oh, wait again… click on that little blank square, allright, you can proceed…”

I though that Numista if maybe overload witch excesive use or something like that. Maybe lot of new member or whatever.

I mean, few month ago all is flying (read: work as it should). So, whatever this is - is annoying. Pretty annoying.

Let that be just one vote in nonexisting poll about site, precisely that part of it. Nothing more.

I hope it will be sorted out sooner that later.

So it’s there to protect us.

And if part of that process also trains AI systems, well, fair enough. Nothing online is truly free.

Only from useless bots, I have an extension that auto solves them for me.

Interesting how few months back we (I mean I, don't know for others, but...) was free from all those “captcha things”.

Maybe my view is to narrow, but for me all was worked flawless. Now it's pretty annoying.

That's why I spend more and more time on some other sites with similar content. I guess they are “truly free”.

Nevermind. I'll use this great site until browsing become pointless (hope will never do), that with every page change I have to fullfil a new "identification".

At least it's mostly just an empty square to click on, but browsing speed suffers like nowhere else.

I spend a lot of time on this site and haven't had one of these happen to me recently. Maybe two months ago I had one. Not really an issue as far as I'm concerned.

Irritating it might be. We should remember why reCapthca is there. It shields out most of the bots, if it wasn't there, numista might be unusable due to being swamped by millions of spam bot and AI bot attacks each day.

More and more sophisticated bots have been accessing Numista over the past couple of months, which are a threat for the website. New protective measures have been put in place and are adjusted continuously. I try to find a balance between effectively protecting the website and avoiding impacts on good visitors.

I just made such adjustments, so that most visitors should see less captchas in the coming days, especially long term members.
