Colombia 1955 B Diez Centavos DDO

Pubblicazioni di 8 • visto 115 volte

I've researched and researched until I'm blue in the face and I can not find a Colombia Diez Centavos Variety double die anywhere. I've posted it to a couple expert groups I'm in and one of them claim there's plenty, but I've yet to find one. Also I've looked on NGC and according to them there are no known double dies for 1955? This 1955 10 cent coin I have is IMO comparable to our US famous 1955 one cent wheat penny, yes it's got very dramatic obverse doubling on the portrait and the letters. It's a beautiful example of what a true double die is supposed to look like. My question is, who do I contact, where do I go for more info, and who's going to take me seriously? Most importantly am I right?

You can be right and wrong at the same time. If what you say is true (no images at this point), what you have is a double die Colombian coin - beautiful, and lucky you if you are a collector of errors. However why do you think it is special, or in my assumption that you believe it has high monetary value?

Comparisons to the 1955 US Cent, proves just how the US coin error market is a self sucking lollipop, your coin will have an error premium above its coin market value (which is a few US$), so add a few more buy selling it to someone who whats to buy it.

Self sucking lollypop…I need to remember that. Anyway, this is a beautiful doubled die coin.  US $24,000.

I'd like to see your pictures.

Oh now that is beautiful. Should only be worth a few $$$ with the double die, up to $$$ without, considering it’s size and material (small and cheap), it’s mintage (loads) and it’s overall design (nice but not extraordinary). This one is top grade making it special, but not $24,000 special. I have a Mexican Peso with identical doubling, cupronickel, larger, more interesting design, far less mintage, lower grade, less eye appeal. Worth $ maybe $$ at best, but on the basis of this price $24,000, should (if all things are fair) be worth $$$$… but it’s not not. Self sucking lolli!
