The abbreviations Obv and Rev are commonly used in Numismatics and in Numista listings, but they aren't mentioned in Abbreviations used on Numista. The implication is that they aren't allowed, but I think they are so common (obv 494 times, rev 1191 times) that it would be useful to mention them explicitly.

Ideally, the Numista robot should replace these abbreviations with the corresponding word.

On the guidelines page, I think the check marks for abbreviations to not be used should be replaced with red Xs.

Yes, we will avoid misinterpretations. @Xavier

And explicitly add the obverse and reverse:

Hello,

The page for abbreviations now shows red X's and explicitly mentions “obv.” and “rev.”

Not to be pedantic, but why is var. allowed?
