Reichspfennig - Germany 1940 - zinc - use the catalogue to find the coin page and answer your own question.
Dear @msblondie6603tb ,
Please forgive @King , he means well but suffers from undue indignation. Here is the link to your coin:
Your coins are not valuable - worth at most a dollar or so - and most certainly not worth grading. However, they are historically interesting and worthy keepsakes.

What’s wrong with allowing people to use the catalogue to to answer their own question? All the information is on the coin so the OP can search the catalogue, if the OP didn’t know the country or material - I kindly gave them as a starting point so the OP could quickly find their coin. This is something teachers do to help students learn, instead of enabling them by giving them all the answers.
You @TCon have now made a personal jibe at me and insulted me to another user „undue indignation“ because we didn’t agree on a previous topic or post, which by the way breaks the Forum Policy.
“use the catalogue to find the coin page and answer your own question.”
That's not “allowing” someone to use the catalogue, that's rude and obnoxious and condescending.

This isnt primary school and you're not a teacher. People come here to ask questions, you are under no obligation to reply. Incomplete replies are pointless. You clearly knew the answer to OP's question but elected not to answer the question.

you imply the tone of the text from your personal views, I simply stated something that the OP might not have considered, it wasn’t written to be rude, just short and to the point, like the OPs question in the Subject and the 1 image provided. And besides, I wasn’t talking to you, so why are you even sticking your nose in. You can add to the forum post if you like, but do not start an argument between me and the OP for no reason which isnt even there.
for all I know, this new user is probably you, looking to start an argument - why else would you project your „hero complex“ within hours of my reply. Did the OP need saving from my fact based words!?

No it isn’t primary school, but some members, like yourself start arguments on a primary school level of intellect for no reason. As for incomplete replies being pointless, what is the difference between my reply and your reply to this question?

How do you know I am not a teacher?

Primary school reply to a stated fact of your own making.
“use the catalogue to find the coin page and answer your own question.”
Don't we want to make people use the full resources of Numista?
I do. I hardly ever give full solutions, just hints, so that our new members can learn, not just being given the solution, which will not teach them to do their own research!
King is right in this case.
The catalogue is easy to navigate and it takes less time to find a coin in there than to post it on here

He makes a living out of being a clown
Perhaps a short explanation of how to use the catalog would go a long way in helping the perceived tone of replies like this.
Yeah I just don’t get why he jumps on people, maybe it’s just a mirroring of his own problems. Who knows! I know that the first time he was in a post with me, I actually thanked him for something - but then next few we disagreed (which I find normal, as people have different opinions, experiences, knowledge, etc) and he obviously just held on to the grudge waiting to dive in and start a pointless argument by apologising about me to a new member, how insulting and completely unnecessary - I never wrote my original reply to insult anyone, just to give information with words and point someone in a direction they might not have considered or even known about.
This is one of the reasons why I want the forum to have a shake up, not just to enable new members to maybe answer their own questions before posting to the forum, but to also get them to stay members and enjoy the hobby. I mean what must msblondie6603tb think after seeing two members having an argument because of their one question, if I were them I would have just thought how ridiculous it is and stay away from the forum, or the website. And this is exactly what we donˋt want to happen, we want the opposite.

I myself am not overly thick skinned and often think why should I bother replying to questions (not because I don’t want to) but because I am now worrying about how people might misinterpret simple words. I know other members have also had this misinterpreted scenario directed at them, and it’s just ridiculous, especially as things like, second language, auto correct, time respondent has to write reply and translation errors all contribute to what is displayed on our screens. Not to mention the then interpretation of the person reading the words.
Of the first two answers to the OP's question which do you think they valued most? Which do you think would give them the confidence to ask another question on the forum?

It’s a valid point, as I said in writing my big reply (your reply I hadn’t seen whilst doing that), time constraints, auto correct can all have an input on this.

It's an open forum. It's directed to anyone who wants to answer.

Well from my point of view my answer (the first) was short and to the point (some what time constraint), and the second answer (from TCon) was more in-depth. However there are a million other short and to the point answers on this forum from many other members, why should I or any other member be forced to write a love letter to woo people into asking another question on the forum. I believe the best way is to help them help themselves - other members agree with this notion.
However my response to TCon hasn’t been about the answers given to the question, but that of his insinuation that my answer was written in anger (it was not), and that I am someone who has anger issues (this part - „undue indignation“) and the fact that he specifically went out of his way to put me down whilst trying to elevate himself. (He doesn’t always write such nice replies, as indicated by the example forum answer I linked, which was also short and to the point), TCon could easily just answer the question without insulting me and let the OP decide which they valued the most. For all we know, my reply had guided the OP to the catalogue, they had found the coin and thus found the Numista value and or looked at past sales to find the answers they required and thought nothing more about it. My answer was 8 minutes after the question was asked, TCon replied 10 hours later.
Furthermore the question itself was in the title, there was no other text on the post and just the one image; this to me directly contributed to my style of reply. Had the OP written more in the post explaining their questions, thoughts, coin collecting knowledge, etc, „dear members, please, thank you, etc“ I would have probably answered more in that style. But please don’t misinterpret this comment, the OP is fully entitled to ask the question in the way they did (I find nothing wrong with it) and expect an answer. It is simply a difference in styles of communication, and in my opinion one feeds off the other.
I want the Forum to improve, you can add any ideas to a specific post I started about this very thing;
I agree with king, members have to learn how to use Numista, if not they will never stay with us.
Identify this coin (without images), I don't bother to answer with “WHERE” anymore. Sometimes I give a hint HOW to use the search in numista, but never the full answer, too easy!
The same goes for values.
We are not here as a bunch of experts for whatever question might be asked, we're here to teach eventual new members how to reason and structure their search methods.
I have my own priorities and prefer to spend MY time on those, but when a like-minded member needs help, I always try to help.
