The test depends on the country. I was never asked to do it in Hungary. But Numista asks it almost every time if I log in from China or Asian VPNs.

Never seen it on the site here in UK
ZacUK, I got it yesterday here. Thankfully on laptop so was able to see screen a bit better.
I'm regularly getting captchas in the middle of an edit session as well.
All a bit annoying.
Cheers

I get it all the time for some reason?
(FYI, I’m not a bot)
I probably shouldn’t have said this as now I’m getting bombarded with captchas. 🫤
All the time in New Zealand, treated like we are a ward/atheling or a third world country. Most spam and bots come from places like Russia (Full of malicious hackers and foreign bodies), China, Nigeria and click farms in Myanamar and Laos.

Don't take it personally … if you read the forum, people all over the world are getting these. I'm assuming the team has a good reason to add this extra check, as long as Numista keeps working.

You would be surprised by the real data about bots on Numista…
We continuously adjust the captcha rules. Most of the times, logged-in users should not see them. But captchas are triggered for everyone as an automatic protective measure when the website gets overloaded. The goal is really to try to keep the website up during attacks, even if it means that everyone has to go through the annoying captchas and some real users might be blocked. It's just an emergency state while we work on fixing the issue.
These are a very necessary defence against bot attacks. The alternative would be the website being forced down by bots. there is a surge of these attacks on websites currently. I would rather fill a captcha than have the site offline.
That's not the question. The resolution doesn't allow it very well!
