2019 Coin 20 Cents

I have a 2019 coin. Looks very few are minted. Must be UNC. What do u feel? Please comment. Thanks.

Who told you few were minted?

Considering only 3% written on the 2019 20 Cents mintage, I thought so. Might be wrong. Would be happy if you share more insights. Thanks.

Hi,

where did you get the 3% from? Mintages are always in the number of coins minted in that year. If it's from numista, then it means, I think, how many of users in percentage also having this type KM347 in their collection, so forget that.

The 2019 is the last 20 cents coin I have in my collection for the reason they are no longer minted.

In numista it's also the last registered!

I think you are referring to the „frequency“ figure of 3% at the end of the year line?

This indicates that only 3% of members who own the coin in general, own the 2019 coin, so it is the least common of the years.

Those frequency rates say something but not everything. Type collectors don't care about dates. Once they have one of a certain type they no longer buy other coins of this type. So in general the more dates a certain type has, the lower the frequency rate is for type collectors, especially for recent coins.

That's one reason the frequency rate is lower for 2019. Of course it's possible the mintage is lower because it was the last year for this type, but then you need a more reliable source than just the frequency rate.
