Mexico 25 Peso 1968 Olympic edge inscription

Pubblicazioni di 5
Has anyone reported that the orientation of the edge inscription on the Mexico 25 peso Olympic coin can vary? The inscription can be right side up when the eagle is face up or it can be right side up when the dancer is face up. I don't know whether this is enough to assign them different types but it is certainly more evident than the length of the snake's tongue (Type 3)!
It is mentioned a few times on the forum that edge inscription is usually random - the edge is pressed first, then later the obverse/reverse together. So is not a variety and needs no extra line on the page.

So when removed from the container after edge stamping, it is 50/50 which way they go into the next machine. Like the two blank (admittedly bimetal) coins I possess, shown above; the coins got edge lettering but no further stamping.  :)

Thanks ZacUK! Another question. There seems to be large range of surface finished on the 25 Peso Olympic coins. Ranging from "frosty" to "reflective". This is particularly evident on the eagle's feathers. Is this a difference between old and new dies or some other factor?
If edge lettering isn't that important and doesn't deserve a line of it's own, can you explain why all of the US presidential dollar coins have Position A and B as options?

btw, I truly do not think edge orientation is important, just playing devil's advocate.

Those pages should not have been created like that - it has been discussed somewhere that if a member collects such things then, on the one line for that year, they should enter in Personal Comment which edge they have. Maybe there are some coins that are individually made where it matters, but not mass-produced coins. I think coin catalogues don't mention A or B orientation; also it is not a distinction per coin like a mintmark or metal etc which the mint does have control over.
