Chinese cash?

I'm useless with these.

Top two are machine-struck Guangxu cash from Guangdong, and the bottom one is a Qianlong cash from Boo-yuwan.

So, the top two have square holes. The listings I've found are round hole.

So... Where or how can I learn more and be fore-armed with some confident knowledge of these alien, facinating coins? I have found a cracker friendly pic list of the mint marks, that should help.
I'm also looking for book recommendations on the history of China, something concise but still broad and detailed. What have you read that clicked for you?  
Going to get more of the "holed" coins and think-feel the history.

It helped me a lot.
