You can fairly often find coins from different countries that commemorate a big anniversary of a huge event (like the upcoming 100th anniversary of WWI). But it is a challenge to find two coins with the same subject from two different countries and two different years! Here are two that I am happy to own...
German States (Saxony), 3 mark, 1913 - Centennial of the Battle of Leipzig
Russian Federation, 5 rubles, 2013 - Bicentennial of the Battle of Leipzig
A few countries issued coins to commemorate the 200th anniverary of the Battle of Trafalgar in 2005. For some reason the Cook Islands issued theirs in 2010 https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces46818.html
They both commemorate the first French settlement in modern Canada by Samuel de Champlain. I have always had a hard time finding the 25 cent coin despite its high mintage - perhaps it was only issued in Quebec...
The United States issued a 50 cent coin in 1936 to commemorate the Tercentenary of Delaware in 1938. Sweden issued a 2 kronur in 1938 commemorating the Tercentenery of the settling of New Sweden. Both commemorate the same thing, and depict the same ship, "Kalmyr Nyckel".
Library Media Specialist, columnist, collector, and gardener...
Jersey issued a coinseries (plus a crown) commemorating the 900th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings in 1966.
United Kingdom issued a coin commemorating the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings in 2016.
I don't currently have any examples of either (just missed out on one of the Jersey coins a few days ago), but IIRC both are fairly common (good luck getting that crown though).
It's debatable whether Jersey and UK count as different countries, however.

Canada, 25 cents, 1604-2004

France, 1/4 euro, 1604-2004

I've seen the Canadian one but only rarely. If I have a spare I'll let you know.
I was actually wondering how many countries had/have commemorative coins for WWI, which has a lot of 100th anniversaries this decade.

I have quite a few of these and lately I've been putting them back in change. They are pretty common in the toronto area atleast ;-)

I found one of those in my change in Niagara Falls a few months ago!
Just happened to get the 1966 Jersey Hastings commemorative (the 1/4 shilling version) today.
The 2016 UK coin will probably be much harder to find though (and definitely much more expensive).

I just won this - I can send it to you free when it arrives - send me a PM with your details.

It's a bit unexpected, but I sent you a PM anyway, just in case
