British East Africa - 1 Shilling - George V

VS

Sierra Leone - 10 Cents WINNER

#1, I know it is hopeless, but honestly I like the lion better on it.

And it is the silver version of the African winner in MPCC I:

#1, I will gladly take George V over a fairly patronizing holding-hands logo. Also, the lion on this one looks better-drawn and less menacing...
1, Awesome coin

I'm not orange and also in other things I'm not a Donald at all. DonChori like Don Felipe or Doña María, por favor.

Numista referee for Canada and Estonia.
I thought this one would be a no brainer, Sierra Leone coin is way older, way rarer and in much better condition. But it looks like it's going to be close.  These competitions are really interesting to see what people like.

1, the second looks like just a fantasy restrike to me.

2, the first one is not in good enough condition to warrant my vote but I have to admit I prefer the first design.

Number 1 for the win! I just recently aquired this coin and although mine is better (no offense), the lion beats all.

Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

Looking for pre 1783 coins

I've got a fascination with the Sierra Leone coins. Yes they seem as if they are fantasy restrike but they aren't !
Infact apparently the fantasy restrikes with the lion are made from the old dies ! It's not really patronising either. This was a colony set up by a company of people who wanted freedom for slaves, a lot of freed slaves did travel here.. I would say its one hell of a piece of history !
2 for me!
