Hello,
5 days ago I have added 2 farthings that were missing in the catalogue.
Today I don't find theses "Change request" anymore in my list.
The coins have not been integrated into the catalogue and I didn't get any message informing me what happened to them.
I have made the pictures from my own coins, which are in poor quality and I have checked in the Krause books which were the years of mintage.
I just wanted to make the pictures of a 1 penny from 1720 and a 2 pence from 1727, both in good quality, but don't see the use right now.
I have also created 5 additions for the German states which have all been accepted.
Would really like to know what has happened there...
Try to contact the referee, when you go to the UK country scroll down and you will find the referees name at the bottom, but you should allow new coins to take up to two weeks to be added.

The problem is not that the coins have not yet been added. I am in no hurry.
The problem is that the coins have disappeared from my Change request list.
I offered to become the UK & territories and even some of the former colonies referee months ago when it was first found manxcat had gone, but I was completely ignored. As a result I wouldn't even consider doing the job now.
One would think there would be a que of people wanting to be Refferees for the British part of the site. With the quality of reffrence material out there it must be amoung the easier parts of the site to administrate.

Indeed, but only Xavier can change it.

Piss poor.
I'd consider adding a few new coins or even upgrading some of the pictures if we had a decent, active and knowledgeable referee. I reckon that ship has sailed now though and I don't blame you one iota.
Non illegitimis carborundum est. Excellent advice for all coins.

While waiting, do the same with some Ottoman or Hungarian coins, we have a lovely active and knowledgeable referee there
Cita: tony_k_1965Isn't it about time Xavier gave someone else the authority to make change to who and who can't be accepted as referee's instead of being selfish.
indeed, Isn't it about time that Xavier showed up again.

I don't actively collect Ottoman or Hungarian coins so any that I happen to have are those incidental purchases where you see a beautiful coin for a price you just can't refuse. As a result I've got a pretty modest collection and it's pretty certain that anything I have has already been entered. Mostly Austro-Hungarian but I also seem to be a magnet for nicely preserved Ottoman coins. I've always liked the exotic unfamiliarity of Islamic coins and as most of the "coin dealers" (sic) in Florida wouldn't know the difference between a lovely Ottoman coin and a tap washer I've managed to pick up a nice little hoard, including many silver coins, for a few cents each.
I've still got a few to be identified so stand by to have your brains picked, my esteemed referee and mentor.
If Numista ever shows signs of life I'd be most happy to help you in your efforts, certainly in providing better grade examples to picture, but as things currently stand I see no point in investing any time or trouble.
