[/b]An addition is to be made under French Equatorial Africa (Afrique Equatoriale Francaise)
1) Franc CFA (1917-1944) (To be added)
2) Franc CFA (1945-1960) (This heading also contains coins belonging to the previous group)
EQUATORIAL AFRICAN STATES :- CFA franc (Central bank of Equatorial African States and Cameroon, 1961-1973)
CENTRAL AFRICA (BEAC) :- Franc CFA (Bank of Central African States, 1973- )
Successor state details: (this is being mentioned because each member state like Chad, Cameroon, CAR, Gabon Congo must have these classifications & it has been noted by me and added later on by numista team in only couple of the five countries) The sixth country in this group -Eq. Guiness has its name on all coins
The common currency i.e. the lower denominations (1 to 25 francs) don't have specific country's name & are circulated in all the 5 countries. However, denomination above 50 francs have specific mint mark (alphabets) representing one of the 5 countries namely
Central African States : (A-Chad)(B-Central African Republic)(C-Congo)(D-Gabon)(E-Cameroon)
