Hi everybody!
This subject was discussed here before . Azores is just a region of Portugal and the Escudo coins with the lettering "Região Autónoma dos Açores" or simply "Açores" are just commemorative coins minted by portuguese government and with circulation in all portuguese territory. Azores can't mint money. The same for Madeira.
The problem is that is nice when we add a new country in our collection, and a lot of users submits the wrong information to move the coins to Azores or Madeira "country" and it is accepted because
the information in Krause is wrong. For example contains some coins in both "counties" (Portugal e Azores).
Those regions aren't under my competencies in Numista and I can't fix those troubles because I'm only the referee for Portugal. Azores and Madeira are out of my privileges. Before Laurent fixed the problem but now seems that some coins returned for the wrong places.
Despite it, I'll talk with Kenny to try fix the problem again.
Best regards
