Brass coin just a little larger than a nickel. One side has vine/leaf pattern around the edge. Check mark with square/diamond above it in the center. Other side has crescent moon/star with crossed flags above it in the center. Arabic (?) writing around the edge.

Algeria. Very good choice. But all the Algerian coins with a crossed flag have a Gregorian date on the other side. I suppose he would have mentioned that.

It's not very strange. Most of his collection and swap list seems to be US, Canada, Mexico, UK.

A whole description but you forgot to mention the "1964" in Gregorian on the coin? That would have been an enormous help. Or was this a test and you wanted to make it harder for us?
