When swapping sometimes it happens that I select many coins but then it turns out that I don't want some (or many) of them anymore (bad condition, too expensive, not available anymore...). I would love to be able to delete these coins from the swap because sometimes it's just quite confusing with so many coins that are not important anymore for the swap.
I'm not orange and also in other things I'm not a Donald at all. DonChori like Don Felipe or Doña María, por favor.
Agreed, I quite often select coins and am then told "I no longer have that coin" so you unselect it, but it still appears in the list of coins you are getting. Vice versa if I tell someone the coin they have selected from me is in a pretty poor state, do they still want it and if not they unselect it, but it still shows in the list and a few times I've nearly sent it anyway before realising. To delete these from the swap would be ideal.
Very good idea. I think all the swappers already experienced the fact that during swap negotiations some coins weren't desirable anymore, for all kind of reasons. But they always stay in the list and especially with big swaps there is a whole lot of scrolling before a swap finally is confirmed. The longer that list, the more you have to scroll, so deleting the no longer desirable coins makes it a lot easier.
What I do is view the Excel file, edit this (deleting the no longer needed coins), print it and then use the list to make the final selection.
I've experienced this same thing myself as well but it never bugged me still seeing those coins that both parties unselected. I actually think there may be some use for it for some people. So instead of allowing deletion of coins from the swap (assuming they will be gone from the swap permanently) I'd rather see a switch/option/checkbox to hide this kind of coins (where both sides unselected a coin).
If deleting coins is an option, it has to be bilateral. I update the availability of a coin for exchange while the swap is under discussion, and if the other person were to delete it, I might not recall which coin to re-add to my exchange list.
I love the idea of a "hide" option already stated.
"Hide selected coin" should same as "delete selected coin" (better wording is perhaps - "remove selected coin") for certain coin must be seen by both sides. No use if only one side hides/deletes the coin from swap list, and the other one knows nothing of it.

I too would find this feature useful, though I do see how it could create confusion. Perhaps a feature to toggle the full display of the coin would avoid this confusion.
I'm envisioning something like this. Left is normal view; right has coin "hidden"...
This would allow the unfinished swap list to be cleaned up a bit by hiding coins no longer of interest while sill displaying its selection status. It also maintains the current data structures and only adds a visibility flag (or two) to the record.

I really fear that a "delete" functionality may introduce some useless complexity in the swap process. What if I delete a coin, which the other swap partner was still considering? Or perhaps it should be a "hide" functionality so that it doesn't impact the view of the other member; but then what happens if the other members selects that coin or starts discussing about it?
Until I find a good way to implement this functionality, I prefer to keep the current behaviour.
The proposal from codypbann with a "light hide" (the coin is less visible, but still visible in case I need to look at it) avoids the downfalls described above, but I'm not convinced with the user experience to have a third checkbox (even if the checkbox is shown an open or closed eye icon).
Perhaps a solution would be to grey out the line (as in the mockup from codypbann, maybe still keeping the picture, just greyed out) as soon as the coin gets unticked by both parties, without the need to click on the "hide" icon button.
I'm not sure whether this really answers to the initial requirement, which was to clean up the list and not show the coins that are excluded from the swap. You would still have a long list which contains excluded coins, but it would be easier to spot the coins that are still parts of the discussion for the swap.

I'd agree this keeps the form clean with one less checkbox and still accommodates the use case. It depends on the other party taking action to uncheck the coin too, but I think that's a nice feature. The main idea is to visually focus the swap on the coins still at play. I don't dislike the idea of sorting such “lightly hidden” pieces to the bottom, but I don't think it necessary so long as the vertical space consumed by the “lightly hidden” coin is reduced to reduce scrolling.

Yes id agree with the hide option. Would be a lot better.
what about a pragmatic solution allowing to delete a coin ( if I cannot have it as already reserved for someone else or if I do not want it anymore for whatever reason) from the swap if:
- it can only be deleted by the one party who initially selected it, and only if
- none of the two parties has it actively marked as part of the current negotiation
If I cannot have it or if I do not want anymore, it should not be considered in the swap anyway.
thank you.
in the end everything will be good - if it's not good, then it's not the end...

What to do if a swap considered coin is no longer in my posession? I've swapped a coin that was added in two different swaps of different users. One of the swaps was completed, and I removed the coin from my collection. But the other user was not automatically notified, and the coin cannot be removed from the other swap.
I see that public comments on a coin are tracked within a swap, why not add availability to that?

This type of notification does not exist, you should notify yourself to the other swap partner. The coins can not be removed in the swap page, but you can uncheck them (if the swap is under discussion, not confirmed).
