As I saw the big conflict between members due to the restoration of Abkhazia (to be decided in another topic) to the badly-called "country list", I would propose to modify all pages and the Catalogue menu to replace all "country(ies)" mentions by "country(ies) and territory(ies)". People mainly consider the name "country list" instead of "country and territory list", and even the dashboard call "countries" both countries and territories. My idea is linked with this odd screenshot confirming the main use of "country" despite the title name.

C&T, perfect! Then there won't (or shouldn't) be any more conflict, since even if it's not a recognised country, you can't argue that it's not a territory :P
I think having "country and territory" everywhere is way too long. The ideal solution would be to find a better single-word name that would cover countries, micronations, no-recognized states and other catalogue sections like ancient Rome or Swiss cantons. "Section" would fit but it's not very sexy. Any idea?
Issuer? Authority?
Or simply "Territory"?

I like issuer.

There's that French side of you! :D

I think "State" would be the best idea.
If we had "State" then we'd need to ungroup the German states, Indian states, Italian states, etc and the list would be impossibly long.

State is too much close to country...

Dependency?
Nation?
Land?

Difficult one this, because a single word wouldn't be able to fit every country/state/territory/dependency.

Personally, I'd leave it as country, simply because everyone knows what it implies.

I'm not an expert in any kind of coins, but I reckon I'm good at research and will do my best to help. Feel free to tell me my identifications/valuations/gradings are wrong. It's the only way I'll learn.
Jurisdiction is another word sometimes used in this context.

Or why not simply C&T or CnT? It's easy, short and fun - since it almost sounds like T.N.T! :D
Consider "Entity" often used by stamp collectors for all issuers.

Is that one not already solve?

Indeed I believe it can be closed. The list contains issuers, which can be countries but not only. The wording on the page reflects that.

I believe the word “country” is now present only in the statistics of user collections (page “My coins” etc.) for legacy purpose, so people can keep track of the count (even if we are not really counting countries). That's a different topic.
