Chinese Empire - 1 Cash? [Risolto]

Your help would be most appreciated.

A gentlemen I bowl with was interned in camp during WWII (with his whole family) courtesy of our Canadian government. He found these in the chicken coop......

#1 4.15g and 23.37 mm


#2 3.22g and 21.33mm


My best guess is FD#2297, as there are several varieties. But I can't seem to match Obv. with Rev. (I think I have the correct alignment though).

Hoping one of the many Numista experts can nail it down for me.
