Indonesia West Irian and Riau coins entries

Pubblicazioni di 5
In the Numista catalog, there are listings for Indonesia (Rupiah: West Irian, 1962-1971). The coins for the Riau Archipelago are also included in the actual listings, although the location is completely different from West Irian. I think they should be separate, as they are in Krause 2012 SCWC, even though the denominations and KM numbers are the same under each. The only difference is that West Irian has no edge inscription (plain) and Riau has an edge inscription. The coins were issued due to currency values being different in each area from the rest of Indonesia (West Irian having just been turned over to Indonesia by the United Nations after having remained Dutch and Riau being in proximity to Singapore, with which it conducted much economic activity); the rest of Indonesia used only banknotes at this time.

In particular, I have these observations to make on the 25 sen varieties (KM# 8), though the comments probably apply throughout KM# 5 to KM# 9. The coins are standard issue, not commemorative. The West Irian coins were issued in 1964 despite being dated 1962; the Riau coins were issued in 1963, despite being dated 1962. The West Irian coins were recalled December 31, 1971 (demonetized) and the Riau coins demonetized July 1, 1964.

Edge of KM# 8 should be reeded for both varieties. Currently only KM# 8.1 is indicated as reeded and this is implied to be the difference between the varieties. In Krause 2012 SCWC, the illustrations of KM# 8.1 show what can be called a squat-top 5 and KM# 8.2 an elegant 5. This is the only difference between the 2 coins. This is discussed at http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/index.php?topic=25541.0, which also indicates the extreme rarity of KM# 8.1.

The entries for KM# 5 through KM# 9 should be reworked for clarity. Thanks for considering this.

I totally agree West Irian & Riau should be separate country listings. Different territories and different currencies.
There was a (short) discussion about this before in the Referee forum... Everybody agrees but there are always so many other important changes... The recent change regarding the new catalog numbers is a lot of work so we have to be patient and bring up these themes again and again. One day we will be successful :)
I'm not orange and also in other things I'm not a Donald at all. DonChori like Don Felipe or Doña María, por favor.
I was quite puzzled by this too.
Also, it is worth mentioning how the Indonesian section lacks of some silver and gold coins.
Has this gone any further?
