One uses U in lettering while other uses V.

Not that I know anything of this coin but is that difference big enough to warrant its own type? The years indicate they were minted in parallel so it's not like they changed portrait because the dude got older...
Maybe not, but I have seen such separated coins like thousand times in the catalogue. And on a personal note, I believe this separation is better - if they were unified, how could you separate those two on a single sheet? Listing numerous variants and putting loads of images to comment section? I think that with cross reference and comments between these two, everything will be fine.
Krause is not always the best reference as sometimes amalgamating big varieties of coins. Poland-Lithuania is not the only exmple as I found other ones in Swiss cantons.
