Coin images missing/needed for catalogue listings

Pubblicazioni di 6
There have been discussions previously on other topics regarding coin images on catalogue pages, whether submissions should be accepted without images and how to solicit new or replacement pictures.

As it happens, it has recently been brought to our attention that the pictures listed on the catalogue page for UK KM#859 George VI Sovereign were from a website who have not granted permission for their pictures to be used on Numista so the images have had to be removed.

So I was about to post a new topic to request new pictures to replace the removed ones for this listing but then I thought that if we opened up the topic to anyone then we might be able to get many new images added to the catalogue.

There will obviously have to be certain conditions, particularly that any images submitted comply with site rules, i.e. they come from a website that has given Numista permission to use their pictures. Also, any request for images should include a link to the catalogue page so that potential contributors can go straight to the listing and either post the images here on this topic or, more sensibly, they can make the modification request direct to the catalogue (to be agreed by the country referee).

To start off, could I please request that someone find some pictures that we can use for the George VI Proof Sovereign mentioned above and found at the following page:

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces13343.html

Obviously I would like if someone could find and share the pictures requested for the listing above but if you wanted to post a picture request of your own then please feel free to go ahead.

It is indeed a pity that the pictures had to be removed, but breaking copyright rules can be dangerous so better not take any risks.

According to the Numista Rarity index, two members have this coin. I think you as referee can see which members that are? So a message to those two members can maybe solve this problem (if they are still active here).

That is indeed a good idea Essor Prof but unfortunately, although I can see that 2 members have logged this coin in their collection, as a referee I am unable to see who those members are, maybe it is only the catalogue admin that can see that information which is why I am seeking assistance here.

Here's one more British coin that needs a better picture: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces68073.html

How in the hell can anyone prove it is their image? I have been in the website game long enough to know that once an image is taken and renamed with minor altering, it then voids the copyright. Unless the image wasn't cropped and was exactly the same without editing.

This does not mean I condone taking images from other sites, but it does happen on a massive scale as proving it is incredibly hard if the image has been altered. Have you saved a copy of the said image? I would like to see it out of curiosity as to how it could be claimed.

The easiest route if you need to grab a coin is via eBay, all images are public once they are uploaded and do not have copyright.

I list of all the pages that need images would be useful as I certainly don't want to trawl through the catalogue to see if any of my coins can be added.
