Many thanks guys for such an incredible work on Romanian catalogue. There are no more pictures that need crop in this catalogue so your work is appreciated since we have an improved catalogue.
Do not insist, you will not discourage me ! They search volunteers
I take Y 21-30 DONE Section Y OUT
I take Z 11-20 DONE ( Z 20 inchanged)
I take Z 21-30 DONE Section Z OUT prepared following the alphabet : § & @ . . .
Section B2 that I worked on had four Suriname coins in it. I cropped all four coins nicely and I wrote " Photos Edited" on the field designated for explanation of your work, but all four got rejected by the refery Chilian. He rejected them saying he does not see any improvement.
This is either a bug or he doesn't know that all coins should have white background. I kind of got mad but I wrote him nice and polite message asking what does he mean by "I don't see any improvement"
Not that I want to dismiss anything of the good and hard work you've done here but the problem with many of the pictures that were cropped in this project , especially if they come from world of coins, is they are pictures for ants. If you crop them it's like polishing a turd, looks a bit nicer but it's still crap.
So I can see why referees wouldn't always agree with the improvement and would rather like to see a new better picture.
Excuse me, I do not speak English (except with Google translate)

By the way, Suriname referee Chilian just wrote me back a very nice message apologizing for rejecting my photos. He said he doesn't know what was he thinking Message was really nice and I am sure it was just a mistake.
I will crop those 4 coins again now.
Also I was cropping photos on my own lately (not from the lists that you guys work on, but I choose coins myself) Just trying to tell you yo guys are not alone. Keep good job everybody. Thanks

Oh, wait... Wasn't the last file inverted between obverse and reverse?

Sorry chomp-master. I didn't get what you have written in french. Is there something I missed on the entries I have mentioned.
Yes for the third entry, the Obverse had a reverse image and vice versa. So I put in the cropped images with a request to correct it.

It seems the 2nd one was badly cropped as not really in a white background.

Cita: "Jarcek"I meant those Turkish, which have been already cropped.
Oh, I thought I missed some . I am currently trying my hand at Photoshop for learning how to crop irregular shapes, till I am able to do that, I will take up circular ones .

Cita: "ms_hannibal" Do you use Photoshop for the irregular shaped ones?
No, with GIMP 2.8 is free !
O2 finish P2 1-10 DONE P2 11-20 DONE P2 21-36 DONE
For sure Gimp 2.8 is a great bit of software, especially when cropping UK pre-decimal threepence and the decimal 20p and 50p. However, it can be quite time consuming and while I am delighted with the results (for example https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces86939.html) it would be great if anyone out there would like to help out with cropping any of the many other 50p images that need tidying up
Just because you can't see it ... doesn't mean it isn't there - Anon.
If I was not so darn busy I should learn more about my magic black box. But I can barely put images up not less crop yet. Gave me CNC line code I could help. But with my spelling and lack of skill I would make more work for you guys
French side updated. Added special request before duplicate deletion.
EDIT: as concerned referee on holidays, can you wait before requesting the image change?

ENDING for all methods
To be tried if useful and compare:
• Menu [Colours] [Luminosity-Contrast]
• Menu [Filters] - [Enhancement] - [Sharpen]
If necessary : < rotate > tool Final step: Menu [File] [Export As…] « xxx-M.png » in special folder where « xxx.png » original is.
Irregular coin (two methods adopted) Preliminary steps :
1- Frame the coin : < Rectangular selection > tool and [Image] [Trim following the selection]
2- Zoom to the pic like for round coins
A method for probably uniform background
1- bleach the surrounding part of the pic using the < FILLING > tool, starting by the pic borders (1), and by the farthest and clearest parts of the pic (2) https://static-numista.com/forum/images/5784030810cf2.png
2- getting to the closest of the coin, the colour to delete may be found inside the coin and make white spots, please cancel if needed [Edit] [Cancel]
3- zoom to 400 or 500 %
4- take the < pencil > tool on "Hardness", choose the size to erase the remnants and follow slowly the coin listel by small sections, making errors easier to cancel. https://static-numista.com/forum/images/57840334b89ba.png
5- reduce to see the result … and go to the common ENDING step.
B method for a patchwork background
1- Zoom the pic as explained above
2- Using the < path > tool, mark the limits of the coin https://static-numista.com/forum/images/5784035d169bc.png
3- Lock the last dot using < Select from the path >
4- Click on [Select] [Invert]
5- Click on [Edit] [Erase]
6- Bleach the new black background using the < Filling > tool
7- [Select] [None] and go to the common ENDING step.
Other methods possible exist
For example : bleach exterior of coin by sectors with the < path > tool.
After this last series I'll make a selection of 24 coins to crop. If Jarcek won't add one before me, this would be T2.
