I know that this is Chinese, but I've never been able to authenticate it. I'm thinking perhaps it is some kind of token, rather than currency. Anyone else seen this?
Hmmm... such pics seem to be depicting an imitation struck coin without hole. Maybe some other people can confirm such diagnostic.

Yes, this one is the original one. We can easily see the Chinese lettering counterfeit, added with the 2 dots above and under the missing hole.
