I have encountered some coins that do not have a reference number, I propose that Numista creates their own Reference Number in the event that their is no reference number allocated to said coin. The odds of finding such a coin is not common, and should be approved by a Referee when done. However I believe it will greatly improve the accuracy of such a massive database of coinage. Furthermore it gives Numista further Accreditation and Credit in the Numismatic Community.
I see no reason to quantify a coin as "unknown reference" when a Numista Member has identify it, and their is no corresponding reference number to I.D. it. I propose that the Reference number should be "NUM" it is available, and it would signify that a Numista member has I.D. said unknown coin. I will greatly appreciate any feedback, and hopefully we can make this a reality. ~ Paul Paquette
